Painting on Glass
In this course, students will become familiar with the needed
materials before painting. The students will first learn how to work with a liner. Then, they will learn how to paint their subject/topic with the use of glass paints (special paints that can only be used on glass). These glass paints require specific techniques for painting, which the students will learn throughout the course. With this new skill, students can design their designated glasses/plates to look beautiful and stylish, and can then use them throughout their daily life.
History of Painting on Glass Art
Historians can not give a definite time when glass painting began. Traces of creating colored glass figures have been found in ancient cultures such as Rome and China. The first use of this art was when churches were built in the 10th century. Huge glass windows with paintings of Christ and bible characters began to emerge in Europe churches.
